Parents admit throwing dead baby in dumpster, Nevada cops say. They’ve been released

The parents accused of putting their 3-month-old son in aduffel bag and throwing him in a dumpster were released from a North Las Vegas jail Wednesday, according to local media reports.

The boy was found dead inside a North Las Vegas dumpster on Jan. 19 wearing a “filthy onesie,” the Las Vegas Sun reported.

His parents, Raul Ramos, 52, and Adriana Hernandez, 32, who initially denied having a child, were arrested last week on counts of child abuse or neglect and destroying or concealing evidence, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Ramos and Hernandez admitted to smoking meth in a motel room, KSNV/CNN reported. Hernandez then allegedly place the baby face down on the bed. They told police they panicked when they realized their son had stopped breathing and decided to put his body in a dumpster, according to KSNV/CNN.

On Wednesday, the parents were released from jail after a court appearance, according to FOX5. The Clark County District Attorney didn’t file charges against the parents, FOX5 reported.

The district attorney asked for an additional 90 days to file a criminal complaint, saying he wants to see the toxicology and autopsy reports, FOX5 reported.

“Any homicide case is a serious case of course, but especially a case involving the death of a child, but at the same time this case is no different from any other case,” District Attorney Steve Wolfson told FOX5. “We have to have sufficient evidence to move forward. At this time, we felt we needed additional investigation so we’ve asked for more information we hope to get it in the near future.”
