5 parents suing Katy ISD over district's mask mandate

The parents said the COVID-19 risk to children is small and the district's mandate actually harms children, according to the lawsuit.

- Five parents are suing Katy ISD-- five of them-- for $100,000 over the district's mask rule, which is to keep everything as it is until the end of the school year. That means all staff and students are required to wear a face covering while at a district facility. So in their lawsuit, the parents say the COVID-19 quote "risk to children is minimal," end quote, and the mask mandate harms children. Well, Katy ISD just released a statement to us right here. It says in part, "Katy ISD continues to follow the governor's executive order and comply with Texas Education agency's public health planning guidance."
