Paris names Cedarville's Andrew Tencleve new boys basketball coach

PARIS — The Paris School District on Friday approved Cedarville girls basketball coach Andrew Tencleve as the Eagles' next boys junior and senior coach .

Tencleve had an 11-17 record this past season, with the Lady Pirates finishing in the 3A Region 1 Tournament first round on a 59-14 loss to eventual Arkansas Class 3A state champion Bergman. In 2020-21, the Lady Pirates went 17-8 and advanced to the same round in Tencleve's first season there.

Prior to coaching the Lady Pirates the past two seasons, Tencleve had been Cedarville's boys coach since 2008.

In Josh Ferrell's only season at Paris, the Eagles went 20-14, 8-6 in conference, and lost to Osceola 49-44 in the Arkansas Class 3A state tournament first round. They went 12-11 and didn't advance past the district tournament the previous season.
