Parish High reunion committee raises scholarship funds for students

Sep. 8—One school reunion will have lasting benefits for future alumni.

The Parish Hill High School Reunion Committee raised scholarship funds this summer for students currently attending the school.

Parish Hill is the designated school for middle and high school students from the towns of Chaplin, Hampton and Scotland, in regional school District 11.

The school's reunion committee, which arranges gatherings for multiple class years, donated the proceeds of a raffle to the scholarship fund.

"Since Parish Hill High School is such a small school, we held a reunion for the classes from 1980 to 1989," alumnus Mary Dirks said. "All in all, we had about 120 attend. We were able to raise $1,000. We decided that all of the items we had collected to raffle off would be donated for scholarship money at the school."

The joint reunion for the Classes of the 1980s was held at the Franco American Club on July 16.

Another Parish Hill alumnus, Carrie Fish, who is a member of the Reunion Committee, presented the monies raised to the school's Superintendent, Kenneth Henrici, and Principal Brian Tedeschi.
