Parker's Bistro is expanding its downtown footprint.

The owners of the farm-to-table restaurant that opened in 2009 have bought out the building next-door, the Frye Building, which housed Vision Care Associates.

Expanding into the building will allow the restaurant to add more dining space, with oportunities for seating larger groups, as well as a new, full-service bars. The existing Parker's space will remain familiar after upgrades to the existing kitchen and décor.

The Frye Building was built as three separate additions to the Ballard Building (Parker's), which was erected in 1901. The new space has a simple exterior reflecting the modern architecture of the period.

Parker's new space will include high ceilings and interesting historic features that will enhance the new experience. Large industrial windows will look out over part of downtown and add a unique, urban feel to the space.

Stacy Newcomb at Parker's Bistro said the expansion will help the restaurant continue to operate with the same standards of food and service excellence, offered in an interesting, historic environment.

We "will be able to accommodate our guests more comfortably," Newcomb said in a press release.
