Parking rates in ‘Old City’ to go up as part of new budget
As part of 2024 budget discussions, St. Augustine parking rates are about to increase for the Historic Downtown parking facility. As part of the increase, extended hours of parking enforcement were also voted for approval.

According to the City of St. Augustine, rates for the parking garage will increase from $15 to $20 per vehicle, per entry, during peak parking times. However, there will be changes to the hours in which certain special rates will apply. For example, after 5 p.m., during off-peak times, the rate will drop to $5 per vehicle, per entry.

The peak and off-peak times are:
Peak parking times: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Off-peak parking times: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
The off-peak parking times rate of $5 will no apply to special festivals, Night of Lights, and on days when free satellite parking and shuttle services are operating.
All parking rates for any registered St. Johns County resident using the ParkNow Card will remain the same.

The city also said that hours of enforcement for city-managed parking lots and street parking spaces will be extended citywide from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will include Sundays from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.
The changes in hours and rates will go into effect starting Mon., Nov. 6, 2023.
