They will provide services like free dental exams, cleanings, and fluoride treatments as needed. Participants can also learn more about dental hygiene through activities, receive free toothbrushes and even get a picture with the tooth fairy.

“This is great for students. It’s great for us as faculty to work alongside and work in a community setting,” Program Director Laura Hettinger said. “You know, this hopefully is promoting our students to want to do this when they go to other areas of Illinois or even other states. So we want to show them how it’s good to volunteer and use your services, the things that you can do.”

Anyone interested is encourage to drop in, as scheduling an appointment isn’t necessary. Parents or legal guardians must accompany the children.

If anyone happens to miss the event tomorrow, parents can schedule an appointment for a future cleaning. Anyone age 18 and younger is free, as well as senior citizens. Cleanings are $10 for anyone 19 to 64 years old.

The event is set to return in February 2025.
