Parliamentary committee approves extension of martial law, mobilization

The committee members supported bills No. 8419 and 8420 unanimously.

Effective Feb. 19, martial law and mobilization will be extended for another 90 days. A final decision will be made during the parliamentary vote, which will take place in the near future.

Martial law was declared in Ukraine after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, along with general mobilization. As things stand, it is valid until Feb. 19.

Mobilization and martial law will be extended for the sixth time.

During the general mobilization, all citizens of Ukraine who are liable for military service between the ages of 18 and 60 can be called up for military service, unless they have legal grounds for a deferral or exclusion from military registration.
