Parlor Doughnuts reveals additional plans for new Downtown Evansville location

EVANSVILLE – Parlor Doughnuts' new Downtown Evansville flagship location, at Second and Main streets, also will serve as the chain's corporate office and a training center for new franchisees, according to owners of the rapidly growing chain.

Renovation work has started in ground-floor spaces at 200 and 202-204 Main St., and construction documents were presented to the Board of Site Review at a meeting Monday.

The growth of Parlor Doughnuts is creating the need for the larger Downtown Evansville spot, said Darrick Hayden, who founded the company with Josh Tudela.

There are 11 corporately owned Parlor Doughnuts locations, and Hayden said the company is on track to sign 50 franchise markets by February 2023, the company's four-year anniversary.

Parlor Doughnuts is known for its multiple varieties of layered treats. The company started in Downtown Evansville in a Fourth Street storefront next to Comfort by the Cross-Eyed Cricket but quickly outgrew that space.

Spaces at Second and Main have been vacant the last few years. The storefront at 200 Main St. most recently was the restaurant Salad World.
