I-77 South reopened after woman struck, killed by tractor-trailer, officials say

All lanes of I-77 South near Exit 25 in Huntersville have reopened after a woman died after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 77 South in Huntersville on Saturday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Paramedics responded to I-77 near Exit 25 in the Huntersville area just before 12 p.m. for a pedestrian struck call. The woman was hit in the roadway and was pronounced dead on the scene, troopers said. The age and identity of the woman have not been released.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation said at 12 p.m. all general-purpose lanes were closed at two miles after Exit 25. All lanes were reopened after the crash was cleared at 3:23 p.m.
