Part of Uptown New Orleans under boil water advisory after main break
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans issued a boil water advisory for part of Uptown New Orleans on Thursday, Feb. 1.
Some Mardi Gras parades are rescheduled this weekend due to rain
SWBNO officials said the following areas will be impacted by the advisory:
South Claiborne Avenue from Calhoun Street to Toledano Street
Toledano Street from South Claiborne Avenue to Tchoupitoulas Street
Tchoupioulas Street from Toledano Street to Exposition Boulevard
Exposition Street from Tchoupitoulas Street to St. Charles Avenue
St. Charles Avenue from Exposition Boulevard to Calhoun Street
Calhoun Street from St. Charles Avenue to South Claiborne Street
According to the SWBNO, the advisory comes after the break of a 30-inch water main on Claiborne Avenue near Octavia Street caused low water pressure.
SWBNO officials are advising residents in the impacted areas to boil their water or use bottled water to drink, cook, clean and brush their teeth until the advisory is lifted.
