Party City confirms it is closing its Salina location this summer

By the end of this year, Salinans will have one less place to purchase party supplies and Halloween costumes as the Party City store in town is set to close.

A public post on Facebook by Jamie Galimore, who lists her job on her profile as store manager for Party City, said the store is closing its doors later this year.

Additionally, signs at the 2855 Market Place location showed that balloon orders and deliveries will no longer be taken after May 15 at the Salina store.

"I strongly (encourage) all our customers to come in and get what you need for upcoming celebrations, especially graduation, soon," Gailmore's post said. "I do want to thank all of our amazing customers for supporting us and my fantastic staff for everything they have done so far. We have a lot of work to do for closing but we are all banding together and we will go out with a bang!"

An email sent to the Party City corporate offices was returned by Marisa Molbogot of Vault Communications, a public relations firm in Philadelphia. The only information she could confirm was a closure date of July 23, 2022.

When asked for more details, including a reason behind the store's closure, Molbogot said she was "unable to provide additional information at this time."

Party City's doors were open and a few customers were shopping at the Salina location Monday morning.

An option to shop online at the Salina location was still available as of Monday afternoon on the Party City website and it lists the store's hours as 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
