Ryan Knaus examines Toronto Raptors F/C Pascal Siakam's current production, how he is outperforming his ADP, and his potential rest-of-season outlook.
RYAN KNAUS: Most fantasy managers were content to let Pascal Siakam slide past round five in their drafts this season to judge by his ADP of 69.1 in Yahoo leagues. He was rehabbing from shoulder surgery when the season began. But those who accepted the risk have already been generously rewarded. Well, that is if you can look past his 72% shooting at the free throw line, which is a major fantasy headache since he's getting to the line around six times per game.
Everything else has been Golden for Siakam, who is putting up the best player efficiency rating of his six year NBA career while averaging 20 points per game with over eight boards, 4.3 dimes, and nearly a block and a steal. Playmaking is an underappreciated part of his game. And there's no reason he can't hit new career highs and assists. He's putting up 5 per game over the past month, which would easily qualify.
Toronto plays four times in week 12, including a home game versus the Pelicans on Sunday, January 9 that should be worth targeting for DFS purposes. Trade rumors may follow Siakam into the all-star break. But staying in Toronto may be the best case scenario, assuming they can remain in the playoff picture through April.
