Paso Robles will get 135 new apartment units and another roundabout

More than 100 apartment units are coming to Paso Robles in the next few years in a development approved by the City Council last week..

Red Tail Land Development LLC’s 135-unit multi-family residential project passed the Paso Robles City Council by a 3-1 vote on April 18, with Councilmember Chris Bausch the lone dissenter.

Sitting on 6 acres at the intersection of Creston Road and Rolling Hills Road, the project will feature 62 one-bedroom, 52 two-bedroom and 21 three-bedroom apartments, plus 267 on-site parking spaces, spread across seven three-story buildings.

The 267 parking spaces will be made up of 82 single car spaces, 53 carports and 132 uncovered parking stalls.

The project also includes several onsite amenities such as a fitness and clubhouse building, swimming pool and shared recreational open space.

The Planning Commission previously approved the project 7-0 on March 28, including the removal of one 44-inch native valley oak tree on the property.

The loss of the tree will be mitigated by installing new trees included in the new landscape plan, the City Council report said.

The project will also reshape the surrounding roads by installing a roundabout at the intersection of Rolling Hills and Creston road, along with making improvements to the curbs, gutters and sidewalks, as well as pavement widening and new striping for travel and bike lanes.

Construction will take place sometime in 2025 or 2026, the project approval said.
