Passengers on flight to Nashville wrestle with man who tried to get into cockpit screaming 'Stop this plane'
A video posted on Twitter by a passenger on a flight to Nashville shows attendants and passengers holding down a man who reportedly attempted to break into the cockpit
(Twitter/Jessica Robertson)A video captured the moment a man on a flight to Nashville was taken down by attendants and passengers after trying to break into the cockpit shouting: “Stop the plane”.
The Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles made an emergency landing in New Mexico on Friday following the incident involving the unnamed man, as reported by CNN.
Several passengers took videos showing the man on the floor of the plane being held down by a number of people as his hands were bound.

Passenger Jessica Robertson tweeted a video and praise for the attendants involved and said: “I was on this flight in the 3rd row - witness to everything. Terrifying but our @Delta flight attendant Christopher Williams acted quickly. So did several passengers around me. Safe but still in Albuquerque. Hope @delta gives Chris every bit of recognition and bonus he deserves.”
After posting the video she wrote: “This was our view from the 3rd row right after the @Delta attendants and passengers apprehended the person who attempted to get into the cockpit. He was screaming “Stop the plane.”
The man was taken into federal custody in the Albuquerque International Sunport airport.
The FBI posted on Twitter: “There is no threat to the public at this time.”
Grace Chalmers told CNN that Delta made arrangements for them to reach Nashville and said: “We’ve all been able to relax but I would say, in the moment, it was extremely stressful.”
In a statement, Delta praised the passengers and crew on board Flight 386 and said: “The aircraft landed without incident and the passenger was removed by law enforcement.”
The Federal Aviation Administration has begun a recent crackdown on unruly behaviour on planes in the US, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Last month, a JetBlue passenger was fined $10,500 after he refused to wear mask and became “abusive” towards staff on a flight from Texas to Los Angeles in December.
