ADRIANThe Kiwanis Club of Adrian recently recognized the incoming officers and board members for the 2023-24 year.

The ceremonial “passing of the gavel” was conducted in October, which signals the transfer of the presidency from the outgoing president to the incoming president for the next year. The gavel was passed from President Lynne Punnett, manager of community resilience and social determinants at ProMedica, to Cary Carrico, account executive with Kemner Iott Benz.

The Kiwanis Club of Adrian is one of more than 7,000 worldwide clubs in Kiwanis International. Kiwanis clubs support educational development of younger children, encourage economic development, and create and support recreation opportunities.

“As we embark on a new and exciting Kiwanis year, I know we can continue to make a real difference in the lives of those around us and create a brighter future for all,” Carrico said in a news release. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this group with help from an incredible membership and leadership team.”

In addition to developing and promoting more hands-on opportunities for club members, Carrico said he is committed to generating more revenue for community projects through the development of new fundraising projects.

“I, along with the board, believe the most effective way to make a lasting impact is to invest in ideas that will benefit the community for years to come,” he said. “Whether it is through grants, partnerships, or other forms of funding and collaboration, the board and I will work together to ensure that projects are well-funded and well-executed.
