Patricia Elliott, Tony-Winning Actress and 'One Life to Live' Star, Dies at 77

Patricia Elliott, a Tony Award-winning actress who appeared on One Life to Live for more than 20 years, died Sunday, Dec. 20. She was 77.
Elliott’s niece, Sally Fay, told ABC News that the actress died in her Manhattan home after battling cancer.

Elliott is best known for playing Renee Divine Buchanan on the ABC daytime soap One Life to Live. She originated the character in the late ‘80s and portrayed her until 2011.
She earned a Tony Award in 1973 for playing Countess Charlotte Malcolm in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, which marked Elliott’s Broadway debut.
The Colorado-born actress also had roles in such Broadway productions as The Shadow Box, earning her a 1977 Tony nomination, and The Elephant Man, in which she starred opposite David Bowie.
