Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes marries longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews
The NFL offseason is off to a great start for Patrick Mahomes.
The Super Bowl-winning quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs married his longtime girlfriend, Brittany Matthews, he announced Saturday on Instagram.
The 2018 NFL MVP shared a series of photos of the couple on their big day, along with the caption, “Mr. & Mrs. Mahomes.”
One photo shows Mahomes and Matthews kissing in the middle of the aisle during their outdoor wedding ceremony, while another features the duo holding hands beneath a flower-covered archway.
Matthews and Mahomes began dating as students at Whitehouse High School in Texas, and got engaged in 2020.
“My heart is so full! I love this man so incredibly much and today was so so special!” Matthews wrote on her Instagram story on the day of they got engaged. “Couldn’t imagine this day being any more perfect.”
The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Sterling Skye, in January 2021.
Mahomes, 26, is a four-time NFL Pro Bowler who’s passed for 18,991 yards and 151 touchdowns during his five seasons with the Chiefs. He led Kansas City to a Super Bowl victory after the 2018 season.
