When he’s done playing, quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ name will likely be atop all of the Chiefs’ career passing records.

Now in his sixth season as the Chiefs’ starter, Mahomes is second in most of those categories, trailing Pro Football Hall of Famer Len Dawson. But on Thursday night, Mahomes did surpass Dawson in one career statistic.

Mahomes completed 30 of 40 pass attempts against the Broncos, giving him 2,138 career pass completions. That eclipses Dawson’s old mark of 2,115 completions.

Here is the top five in the Chiefs’ record book, via Pro Football Reference.

1. 2,138 Patrick Mahomes (2017-23)

2. 2,115 Len Dawson (1962-75)

3. 1,720 Trent Green (2001-06)

4. 1,587 Alex Smith (2013-17)

5. 1,330 Bill Kenney (1979-88)

Here are five other stats of note from the Chiefs’ 19-8 win over the Broncos.

1. A perfect dozen

ESPN Stats & Info said Mahomes’ 12-0 career record against the Broncos is the longest win streak by a starting QB against a single opponent to start a career since 1950.

2. Movin’ on up

Mahomes had 306 passing yards Thursday night, giving him 25,834 in his career. That’s the 76th most in NFL history, one spot behind Jim Plunkett (25,882) and one ahead of Jeff Garcia (25,537).

The Chiefs said Mahomes’ passing yards are the eighth most by a quarterback in his first seven seasons in the NFL. Here is the list.

1. 29,442, Peyton Manning (112 games)

2. 28,166, Matt Ryan (110 games)

3. 27,853, Dan Marino (101 games)

4. 26,896, Derek Carr (110 games)

5. 25,976, Matthew Stafford (93 games)

6. 25,966, Drew Bledsoe (106 games)

7. 25,854, Jared Goff (100 games)

8. 25,834, Mahomes (86 games)

9. 25,624, Russell Wilson (112 games)

10. 25,534, Andy Dalton (109 games)

3. Gimme Five

The Chiefs won their fifth straight game on Thursday, and it’s the 11 straight season in which they’ve had a five-game winning streak.

That extends their NFL record, the team said. Tied for second on the list are seven-game win streaks by the 49ers (1989-95) and Colts (2003-09). That’s followed by the Dolphins (1970-75) and Patriots (2014-19), who each had six-game streaks.

Here is the breakdown of the winning streaks from the Chiefs in that span.

2013: Nine straight

2014: Five straight

2015: Ten straight

2016: Five straight

2017: Five straight

2018: Five straight

2019: Six straight

2020: Ten straight

2021: Eight straight

2022: Five straight (twice)

4. YACkity YAC

Tight end Travis Kelce’s 124 receiving yards on Thursday included 40 after the catch. That gives him 5,031 yards after the catch (YAC), the Chiefs said. That’s the ninth-most in NFL history and a record for a tight end.

Here is the NFL’s top nine (since 1992), via the Chiefs.

1. 6,230, Marshall Faulk

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made all four of his field-goal attempts, including two-longer range boots (52 and 60 yards). Butker hasn’t missed a kick this season, and set a Chiefs record over the first six games of a season, the team said.

Here is the list.

1. 14, Harrison Butker (2023)

2. 13, Morten Andersen (2002)

3. 11, Butker (2018)
