Patrick Mahomes has played full season’s worth of playoff games. His stats are elite

Patrick Mahomes has been the Chiefs starting quarterback for six full seasons, and with the 17-10 win over the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, he’s now played a full season of playoffs games.

In 17 postsreason starts, Mahomes has posted some incredible stats. Mahomes has completed 67.4% of his passes (422 of 626) with 4,802 passing yards, 39 touchdown throws and just seven interceptions. That’s a 106.3 quarterback rating.

Mahomes also has led five game-winning drives and has four fourth-quarter comebacks in the postseason.

The Chiefs have a 14-3 record in games started by Mahomes in the playoffs. Before Mahomes became the starter, the Chiefs had an all-time playoff record of 9-18.

When he takes the field in Super Bowl LVIII, Mahomes will be the first quarterback in NFL history to start four Super Bowls before turning 30, according to Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, an editorial researcher for NFL Media.

2. That’s 100

Mahomes had a 100.5 quarterback rating on Sunday, the 12th time he’s reached that mark in the playoffs. Only one quarterback in NFL history has had a 100 or better QB rating more often in the playoffs, the Chiefs noted.

Kicker Harrison Butker made a 52-yard field goal in the second quarter Sunday. That was his fifth from 50 or more yards, which tied Adam Vinatieri (seven attempts) for the career NFL playoff record. Butker did it in six attempts.

7. Chiefs set record

Fox 4 anchor Harold Kuntz noted the Chiefs’ six playoff wins in the Mahomes Era is an NFL record for a six-year span.
