The Chiefs’ offense has been out of sorts through the first two weeks of the season, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes still set an NFL record on Sunday.

In the Chiefs’ 17-9 win over the Jaguars, Mahomes had 305 passing yards. That’s his 42nd-career game with at least 300 passing yards, which is the most by a quarterback in his first nine seasons, the NFL noted.

Mahomes, who is in just his seventh NFL season, broke a tie with Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino and former Falcons QB Matt Ryan (both 41 games).

For his career, Mahomes has 24,772 passing yards, which is 82nd most in NFL history. Mahomes is one spot ahead of Packers Hall of Famer Bart Starr.

Here are four other stats of note from the Chiefs’ win on Sunday in Jacksonville, Florida.

1. Tying Tom

Chiefs coach Andy Reid picked up his 270th victory (regular season and playoffs), which is tied for fourth-most in NFL history. Reid pulled even with former Cowboys coach Tom Landry, who is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Here is the list of the most coaching victories in NFL history, via the Chiefs.

1. 347 Don Shula

2. 329 Bill Belichick

3. 324 George Halas

4. 270 Andy Reid and Tom Landry

2. Passing Shannon

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught four passes and had a touchdown reception on Sunday.

The NFL said Kelce has 818 career receptions, the fourth-most by a tight end in league history. On Sunday, Kelce surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe (815 receptions) on the career list.

Kelce trails former Chiefs/Falcons star Tony Gonzalez (1,325), ex-Cowboy Jason Witten (1,228) and former Chargers star Antonio Gates (955) for the most receptions by an NFL tight end.

3. Pat to Trav again

Mahomes’ touchdown pass to Kelce marked the 47th time the duo had combined for a score. That’s the most in Chiefs history, breaking a tie with quarterback Len Dawson and wide receiver Otis Taylor (46).

4. A first for Karlaftis

Second-year defensive end George Karlaftis had his first multi-sack game Sunday, the Chiefs said.

Karlaftis combined with Mike Danna on a sack in the first quarter, then had a third-quarter sack of Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
