Patriots legend Ty Law pulls no punches in criticism of team

Pressure is mounting against the New England Patriots as they face an uphill battle in the playoff picture. They have received criticism from both players and fans alike, as the offensive struggles came to a boiling point last Thursday night.
Hall of Fame cornerback Ty Law is the latest to voice his opinion.
Law was part of the golden era of Patriots football. He finished his career with 53 interceptions, including 36 with the Patriots. His best number in a season was 10 interceptions with the New York Jets in 2005.
The corner knows a thing or two about expectations, and he is disappointed with this year’s version of the Patriots. He was also disappointed with their effort against the Buffalo Bills, as transcribed by Dakota Randall of NESN.com.
“I don’t know what team showed up for the Patriots. I know we all know what Josh Allen is; they had a chip on their shoulder; Stefon Diggs put on a clinic at wide receiver, just the routes he was running. … The secondary, they need some help. They’ve gotta step up and play better. I understand they make some plays, but they’re just not the type of team right now that you can count on — this guy or this guy — making the play and making them a better football team.
“They still have a slim chance. They gotta damn near win out to get in, but there’s still a chance. But the way the schedule is lining up, I don’t have great expectations like, ‘Oh, they could do this.’ I wouldn’t put my money on it.”
That schedule includes the likes of the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and a final matchup with the Bills at Buffalo. It will be an uphill battle for New England to say the least.
The team is struggling, and the offensive inconsistencies will need to change as they make one final playoff push.
