Patrol investigates seven crashes, including rollover on I-77, during Sunday's snow

The Cambridge post of the State Highway Patrol reported handling seven accidents locally, as snow fell from late Sunday morning throughout the afternoon and into the early nighttime hours, including one that involved a North Carolina man.

He suffered minor injuries when the pickup truck he was driving overturned on Interstate 77 Sunday afternoon.

Aaron Blanchette, 35, of Fayetteville suffered a laceration to his head and other injuries just after noon when the Ford F-150 he was driving slid off the interstate and struck an embankment before overturning.

Blanchette was treated at the scene by medical personnel from the Newcomerstown Fire Department and first responders from the Liberty Community Volunteer Fire Department.

He refused transport to a local hospital for further treatment.

The patrol reported Blanchette was southbound on I-77 near mile post 59 in northern Guernsey County when he lost control of the Ford truck.

The initial caller to the Guernsey County 911 Dispatch Center reported Blanchette was still inside the truck. Several minutes later, a dispatcher advised he was out of the Ford and sitting in another motorist's vehicle.

Air bags deployed during the crash and Blanchette was wearing a safety belt, according to the patrol.

The heavily-damaged F-150 truck was towed from the scene.

Blanchette was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control over the vehicle.

None of the other accidents investigated by the patrol's Cambridge post on Sunday resulted in serious injuries.

Other accidents reported to the county's 911 Dispatch Center included:
