Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt visited the Classic City this week.

During his stand-up set at the 40 Watt on Wednesday, Athens mayor Kelly Girtz awarded Oswalt a key to the city. Patton also made an appearance at Wuxtry Records to sign copies of his album ‘Feelin’ Kinda Patton,’ which was recorded at the 40 Watt and is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

To round out his Athens adventures, Oswalt, who voiced Remy the rat in Disney's Ratatouille, visited The National, according to a social media post from the restaurant.

"It’s not every day that a true legend dines at our little neighborhood restaurant. And when said legend — the one who inspired so many of our cooks as Remy the Rat — insists on coming back to take a photo with us, well that’s something to get stoked about!" the post said.

Oswalt is best known for his role as Spence Olchin in the sitcom The King of Queens and several voice acting roles in movies such as Ratatouille and The Secret Life of Pets 2 as well as the show BoJack Horseman.

Oswalt won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for the album of his Netflix special 'Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping.'
