Paul Hollywood: A look at Bake Off star’s love life amid wedding rumours

The Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood is thought to have married his partner Melissa Spalding after dating for over three years.

According to reports, the pair exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Cyprus this week.

The couple got together in 2020, apparently meeting at the Kent pub where Hollywood was a regular and Spalding was landlady.

If the reports are accurate, it’s the second time that the TV star has walked down the aisle.

We have a look at his love life.

First marriage

Hollywood, 57, actually met his first wife Alexandra in Cyprus.

He was out there working as a baker at a plush hotel and she taught scuba diving.

He has been quoted as saying that the pair fell for each other quickly and they got married not long after meeting in 1998, when Hollywood was in his early 30s.

The pair went on to have son Josh together.

Separation

The path of true love did not run smooth for Hollywood and his wife, with their relationship hitting the rocks in 2013 when it was reported that he’d had a fling with his American Baking Competition co-star Marcela Valladolid.

Hollywood later said in an interview with Radio 5 Live presenter Richard Bacon that it was a mistake.

"I did have an affair in America with my co-judge and it was something which... it was the biggest mistake of my life, because actually I still love my wife,” he said.

The celeb indicated that he and Alexandra were trying to work things out.

Reconciliation and eventual split

The pair did patch things up and reconciled.

But in 2017 they confirmed that they had called time on their relationship after almost 20 years.

“It is with sadness that we have decided to separate,” they said in a statement to the Press Association.

“Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son, and we would ask the press and public to allow us privacy as a family during this very difficult time.”

New love with barmaid

After splitting from his wife, Hollywood met and fell for barmaid Summer Monteys-Fullam.

They dated until 2019 when they split amid reports that Monteys-Fullam - who was 29 years younger than the star - refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement, preventing her from talking about their romance.

Hollywood later seemed to address all the gossip around the situation when he posted on Instagram: "My silence on any matters is not a sign of weakness or agreement of what's been said, merely I prefer a quiet life away from my day job!”

Yahoo has contacted a representative for Hollywood regarding reports he has married partner Spalding.
