Paul, Wenzler named Distinguished Young Women of Fulton, Winamac
Nov. 22—The Distinguished Young Women of Fulton County and Winamac were named Sunday evening during a competition at Caston High School.
Alivia Paul, a Caston senior, won the Fulton County competition, and Grace Wenzler, a senior at Winamac High School, won the Winamac competition.
The winners were awarded $1,000 scholarships. They will compete in the state Distinguished Young Women competition in February at Indiana University Kokomo.
Delaney Lowry (Caston) was named first runner-up; Shaylin Wilcox (Tippecanoe Valley) second runner-up; and Madison Campbell (Caston) third runner-up in the Fulton County pageant.
A total of $5,500 dollars in scholarship funding was awarded during the competition.
Paul was awarded $250 scholarships for winning the "Be your Best Self" essay and the spirit and interview categories.
Campbell won the scholastic competition while Lowry won the self-expression and talent categories. Wilcox took the fitness scholarship.
Wenzler was awarded a $250 scholarship for winning Winamac's "Be Your Best Self" essay contest.
The state program takes place Feb. 16-18, 2023.
