Siouxland Libraries is partnering with the Washington Pavilion to offer programming and discounts around shows based on novels to "immerse residents in the story."

Director of Siouxland Libraries Jodi Fick said the first entry in the "Read the Book, See the Show" program will be "To Kill A Mockingbird," which will play at the Pavilion on Jan. 12-Jan. 14.

Beginning Dec. 18, library cardholders will be able to receive $20 off tickets from price levels A and B to the performance of the show scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14.

Cardholders can get the discount by visiting any branch of Siouxland Libraries and requesting a promo code that can be used on the Washington Pavilion's website.

Fick said when the Pavilion brings shows to town based on novels, the library system sees increased interest in the books both before and after the show is performed.

Fick added the library has added additional copies of the book, and is providing instant access for ebook copies and audiobook downloads.

A release from the city said that library cardholders can expect "varying incentives" for following shows.
