Pawtucket woman charged with DUI after wrong-way crash on Route 146

A 20-year-old Pawtucket woman was arrested and charged after a wrong-way crash that injured one person on Route 146 in Providence on Thursday night, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

The crash involved three vehicles and happened shortly before 11 p.m. on the southbound side of Route 146 just north of the Admiral Street off-ramp, according to the state police.

Investigating troopers determined that Dulcelena Tavares was driving a silver Nissan north in the southbound lanes when her car sideswiped a vehicle in the high-speed lane before hitting a second vehicle in the low-speed lane, the state police said in a news release.
