Glenn Schumann saw a major boost in salary after staying at Georgia following the 2022 national championship season.

The Bulldogs’ co-defensive coordinator’s annual total compensation more than doubled from $805,000 to $1.9 million, according to information obtained in an open records request by the Athens Banner-Herald on Friday. That makes him among the nation’s highest paid assistant coaches nationally.

Schumann, who interviewed with the Philadelphia Eagles’ for their coordinator opening, was the largest of eight pay increases for Kirby Smart’s assistant coaches who returned from last season. Ohio State's Jim Knowles at $1.9 million was the highest paid defensive coordinator last year.

Mike Bobo, promoted to offensive coordinator from the support staff, will be paid $1 million. Todd Monken, the coordinator the last three seasons, was the nation's highest paid assistant at $2.05 million before leaving for the Baltimore Ravens.

Bobo also is in line to receive a buyout of $300,000 annually through Jan. 31, 2024 from Auburn after he was fired following the 2021 season. That’s $25,000 a month unless Auburn paid him off in a lump sum.

Tight ends coach Todd Hartley, who has recruited and coached Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington, saw his pay jump from $665,000 to $850,000.

Offensive line coach Stacy Searels pay rose from $655,000 to $755,000.

Running backs coach Dell McGee (now with an $850,000 annual pay), defensive line coach Tray Scott ($800,000), defensive backs coach Fran Brown ($800,000), wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon ($750,000) and outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe ($500,000) each got $45,000 raises.

There was no changes noted for co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp ($805,000 last year).

The total pay for Georgia's 10 on-field assistant coaches totals $9.005 million.

Scott Sinclair, the director of strength and conditioning, will now be paid $550,000, a raise of $95,000.
