Payne, Baker, Albert voted Mansfield News Journal Athletes of the Week

Mansfield Senior’s Will Payne and Shelby’s Haylee Baker and Audi Albert were voted Mansfield News Journal Athletes of the Week.
Payne earned a nomination after he was named the OCC Diver of the Year when he won the diving competition with a 469.50, breaking Joe Dropsey’s school record of 443 set in 1981. He collected 13,019 votes for the week.
The Bucyrus bowling team, Lexington’s Jacob Hathaway, Lucas’ Ty Lehnhart, Crestview’s Jarek Ringler, Madison’s Isaac Brooks, Colonel Crawford’s Mason Studer, Ashland’s Rylan McDaniel, Shelby’s Marshall Shepherd and Ashland’s Luke Denbow all earned nominations for their efforts.
There were 24,467 votes tallied for the week.
Baker and Albert earned a combo nomination after scoring 20 points apiece in a 65-37 win over Marion Harding to help the Whippets remain undefeated. They collected 13,482 votes for the week.
Clear Fork’s Pacey Chrastina, Mansfield Senior’s Madelyn Cramer, Mansfield Christian’s Anna Sparks, Madison’s Lyndsee Young, Lexington’s Kaleigh Leadbetter, Buckeye Central’s Emily Siesel, Lucas’ Marissa Caugherty, Mansfield Senior’s Kiyah Wentz and Crestview’s Mary Leeper all earned nominations for their efforts.
There were 32,311 total votes for the week.
