PCM girls golf scores win at road quadrangular

Apr. 24—CHARITON — A pair of career-best scores lifted the PCM girls' golf team to a win during a road quadrangular at Lakeview Country Club on Thursday.

Led by Eleigh Davis and Brelee Berger, the Mustangs shot a season-best 220 and defeated runner-up and host Chariton by six shots. Davis County finished third with a 241 and the Chariton junior varsity carded a 275.

Davis shot a career-best 47 to win medalist honors and Berger finished fourth with a career-best 55. Riley Johannes turned in a 58 and Emilyn Davis shot a 60 as the final counting scorer.

Meredith Chipps and Gretchen Uitermarkt each carded non-counting 61s.

Davis County's Ella Porter was the runner-up medalist with a 52.

Mustangs finish seventh at West Marshall

STATE CENTER — Eleigh Davis carded a career-best score during PCM's first 18-hole round of the season on April 18.

The Mustangs competed in a 10-team field at the par 72 Lincoln Valley Golf Course and they finished seventh with a 456.

Grundy Center won the meet title with a 347 and Abbie Lindeman's 78 was good enough for the meet medalist. Roland-Story's MaKenna Carlson was the runner-up medalist with an 80.

Nevada (376), host West Marshall (376), Roland-Story (379) and BCLUW (400) rounded out the top five and South Tama County (441), PCM (456), South Hamilton (466), East Marshall (472) and Bondurant-Farrar (484) completed the field.

The Davis sisters led the Mustangs. Eleigh Davis carded a career-best 100 with nine-hole splits of 49-51.

Emilyn Davis shot a 116 in her first-ever 18-hole varsity tournament. Johannes carded a 117 and Uitermarkt had an 18-hole debut score of 123 as the final counting score.

Berger (134) and Isabelle Lorton (140) finished with non-counting scores.
