Peabody Awards Honors 'Mr. Soul,' 'Summer Of Soul!,' 'Hacks' And More
The Peabody Awards unveiled the 30 programs that represent the best and most empowering stories from streaming and cable of the last year.
The thirty programs hail from PBS, HBO/HBO Max, Netflix, Amazon's Prime Video, Hulu, The New York Times, and more. The winners were announced in a multi-day celebration this week.

“Whether exposing injustice, detailing uncomfortable truths, or making us laugh uncontrollably, all of the winners demonstrated how to tell a compelling story. With an ongoing pandemic, political obstructionism, and senseless wars continuing to take and disrupt lives, these programs pushed past many obstacles to tell important stories that will stand the test of time. Peabody is proud to honor their incredible work.”
Of the 30 winners, PBS led with six, followed by HBO/HBO Max with four, Netflix with three, and Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and The New York Times each with two. Additional networks and platforms that won include ABC, FX, KUSA, NBC News, NPR, Peacock, Rumble Strip, and VICE.
Notable winners include Mr. Soul!, Summer Of Soul (…Or When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised), The Underground Railroad, Hacks, Reservation Dogs and more.
