PeaceHealth will relocate its West Eugene Urgent Care to downtown Eugene.

Tentatively planned for December, the West Eugene Urgent Care at 3321 W. 11th Ave. will no longer be operating. Instead, staff and clinic will move into space at PeaceHealth Medical Group, which is across the street from the University District hospital.

PeaceHealth stated the move is an effort to offer urgent care services in a more central location.

PeaceHealth will be making some minor renovations to ground-floor space in the PeaceHealth Medical Group building at 1200 Hilyard St.

The PHMG building, which houses many clinics and doctor’s offices, in addition to a lab and imaging, is on the west side of Hilyard Street. PeaceHealth stated that this move will not be impacted by the planned closure of the University District hospital, which was announced in August.

“We’ve had many productive conversations, both internally and externally, since we announced in August the beginning of a comprehensive process to close the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District hospital,” Dr. James McGovern, interim chief executive and chief medical officer for PeaceHealth Oregon network, said. “During those conversations, we were delighted to find a pathway with the Oregon Health Authority to maintain both inpatient behavioral health and inpatient rehabilitation services without interruption.”

“Another issue discussed was walk-in and same-day care options for patients downtown and near the University of Oregon campus who do not have access to a vehicle,” he said. “Moving the urgent care clinic to a more central Eugene location helps us better serve those patients and many others.”

The West Eugene Urgent Care is PeaceHealth's only remaining urgent care location in the Eugene-Springfield area. Previously, PeaceHealth had urgent cares at its Valley River location in Eugene and Gateway location in Springfield, but both closed during the COVID-19 pandemic due to staffing, consolidating all urgent care services to the West Eugene facility.

The Valley River location is doing a phased opening as the new PeaceHealth Valley River Pediatrics Plus Clinic. It is serving pediatric patients noon to 9 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

The clinic plans to begin operating five days a week in the coming months. The Gateway location permanently closed in March.

The West Eugene Urgent Care is less than four miles away from the University District area. PeaceHealth stated it is exploring other clinic options for the West Eugene property.

PeaceHealth's West Eugene Urgent Care is currently open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

The PeaceHealth walk-in clinic at Woodfield station in south Eugene also remains open. It is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 541-222-8700 to make an appointment.

People can also make appointments at PeaceHealth's two ZoomCare facilities, 2490 Willamette St. in south Eugene and 3266 Gateway St. in Springfield. Appointments can be made online at zoomcare.com.
