Peaky Blinders star Sophie Rundle will soon be returning along with the rest of the cast for the show's sixth and final season.

The Ada Shelby actress, whose new horror movie Rose: A Love Story arrives next week, told Digital Spy that the upcoming episodes will be "all guns blazing", as she teased what fans can expect from her character

"She's just cooler than ever," Rundle laughed. "I think that [creator] Steve [Knight] has said that this is going to be the last, so you can imagine – it's going to be all guns blazing. It's always, you know, really rock and roll.

"But it's the last series, [so] everyone's going to be really going for it. It feels exciting and sad. We're all really pleased that we're getting to make it and tell more of the story.

"But yeah, Ada's just as badass as ever. She always is."

Rundle, who also stars in fellow BBC drama Gentleman Jack, explained that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of changes to production have taken place to ensure everyone's safety.

"I haven't been on set yet," she said. "I've been on Gentleman Jack under the restrictions, which are very strange – even stranger, actually, because you're in all those sort of period dresses and bonnets with the mask on. But I think it's a new normal for everyone.

"It's tricky on Peaky, because I was chatting to the director, and he was like, 'We've got such an international cast'. It's been going on for so long now that you've got this real sort of mosaic of cast members – some have been in it from the beginning, some are new, some are just coming in this series.

"They're from all over the world. So I think it's been logistically quite difficult to get everyone there. But yeah, I think the whole industry is just like it always is – just figuring a way through."

With so many fan theories about the show on social media – not least of all, who betrayed Tommy Shelby in the previous season – Rundle explained that she doesn't attempt to come up with her own ideas, as the writing is always "so brilliant".

She said: "Steve knows what he's doing! Do you know what, though? It is really, really lovely to be part of something that people really do care about and want to talk about. The conversation around it on social media – I really love it.

"I love that people are so enthusiastic, and they've embraced this world, and they feel really part of it. because it's been – what? – six series now? So, yeah, I'm endlessly delighted by Steve Knight's writing. I think it's really brilliant and bold. I'll leave it up to him."

Rose: A Love Story is released on digital platforms in the UK on April 5 through Signature Entertainment.
