Pebble Hill Plantation's Quail Trail 5K slated for Oct. 21

Oct. 10—THOMASVILLE- Pebble Hill Plantation is pleased to announce the return of the Quail Trail 5k Run. The event is slated for Saturday, October 21st. The course for the Quail Trail 5k will traverse the historic grounds and beautiful woodlands of Pebble Hill. The course is USA Track & Field certified and the terrain is varied with changes in elevation and surfaces. Participants may run or walk the course.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Pebble Hill Plantation Preservation Fund, which helps with the care and preservation of more than sixty historic structures and the conservation of the 3,000-acre property. Pebble Hill Plantation is a 20th century sporting estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places and opened to the public in October of 1983 as a museum, as was the wish of its last owner, Mrs. Elisabeth "Pansy" Ireland Poe. Pebble Hill Plantation is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

Preregistration for the run is required and check-in on the day of the race begins at 6:30 a.m. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. Registration for the run is $35 and can be made by visiting pebblehill.com. There will be no registration on the day of the event. The race is for all ages and spectators are welcome. More information may be obtained by calling 229-226-2344.
