Pedestrian, 61, killed by hit-and-run SUV driver in Brooklyn
A hit-and-run driver killed a pedestrian on a Brooklyn street early Sunday, mowing the man down as he tried to get into his car, cops said.
The 61-year-old victim was trying to enter his car on Washington Ave. at Dean St. in Prospect Heights just before 2:15 a.m. when an SUV driver barreled into him, cops said.
The driver sped off, cops said.
Medics rushed the victim to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital but he couldn’t be saved. His name was not immediately released.
