Pedestrian dead after apparent hit-and-run crash in Vernon, investigation underway

A pedestrian died after an apparent hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon in Vernon.

A caller reported the incident just before 3 p.m. in front of 151 Phoenix St. and the first emergency personnel on the scene found an adult male in cardiac arrest, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Vernon police and its traffic services team are investigating the crash but no further information was immediately available. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Vernon police.
