Police identify pedestrian who died after a hit-and-run car wreck

The Montgomery Police Department released the name of the 50-year-old woman who died after a car hit her and fled the scene, officers said.

The hit-and-run car wreck killed Victoria Harris on Tuesday night, police said. She was walking in the 1300 block of a service road next to East South Boulevard, Maj. Saba Coleman said in an email.

Montgomery police officers and fire medics responded to the wreck at about 10:09 p.m.

Police said the pedestrian had fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled the area before the police arrived, Coleman said.

Police did not immediately release any other information.
