Pedestrian dies after serious crash Memorial Day weekend, CMPD says
A pedestrian has died after a serious car crash on Memorial Day weekend, CMPD says.
The crash happened on May 29 at 9:57 p.m. on Eastway Drive.
MEDICs arrived at the scene and transported Laura Jean Swartz, 59, to Atrium Main with serious injuries.
Swartz died from her injuries on June 7.

Detectives said the investigation showed that Swartz was crossing the northbound lanes of Eastway Drive when she was hit by a KIA Optima sedan that was traveling north.
The driver of the KIA pulled to the side of the road and stopped. The driver was evaluated and was not impaired.
The investigation into the crash is active and ongoing.
