Pedestrian in Fair Lawn dies after being hit by NJ Transit train

A New Jersey Transit train struck and killed a pedestrian in Fair Lawn on Thursday evening.

Bergen County Line train 1171 out of Hoboken hit the pedestrian just west of the Radburn Station in the borough at around 6:52 p.m., a NJ Transit spokesperson said.

There were no injuries to the about 300 passengers on the train and NJ Transit Police are leading the investigation.

Trains were initially subject to a 30-minute delay because of the fatality, but by around 9:30 NJ Transit reported that "Bergen County Line rail service is operating on or close to schedule in both directions, with residual delays to trains already enroute."
