A Sacramento man reported Thursday to have died in a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision on Crows Landing Road is still alive, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision happened on Crows Landing Road, south of Blankenburg Avenue at about 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
As of Friday afternoon, the CHP reported the Sacramento man was alive and being treated at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, saying that it had “made a huge mistake,” by initially reporting that he had died.
The collision occurred when a 1997 Acura sedan struck the man as he was walking within the northbound lane of Crows Landing Road, according to the CHP.
The Sacramento man, whose name and age have not been confirmed, was then taken to Doctors Medical Center where, as of Friday afternoon, he remained.
The driver of the Acura sustained minor injuries and was determined not to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
The Modesto Bee reported the collision as fatality on Thursday.
