The adult pedestrian who died after being struck by two vehicles at a busy intersection in Thousand Palms Thursday night has been identified as 47-year-old Christina Humphrey. Humphrey was a resident of Thousand Palms.

The accident occurred at 5:26 p.m. at Varner and Ramon roads just north of Interstate 10, an area populated by restaurants, gas stations and truck stops. Two cars hit a pedestrian in the roadway, and while the driver of a black Kia Rio stopped at the scene, a silver SUV that also struck the pedestrian continued southbound on Varner Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
