Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Fort Lauderdale

Broward Sheriff’s traffic homicide detectives are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead.

It happened just before 6 a.m. Wednesday on State Road 7 near Davie Boulevard, west of Fort Lauderdale.

State Road 7 is closed to traffic in both directions between Davie Boulevard and Southwest 20 Street.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until further notice.
