Pedestrian killed in Limestone wreck identified

Feb. 14—A pedestrian killed last week near Ardmore when he was struck by a tractor-trailer has been identified as an Indiana man, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said today.

Rudy Joel Matute-Hernandez, 39, of Indianapolis, was struck by a 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer at 11:09 p.m. Feb 7. According to ALEA, Matute-Hernandez was in the roadway on Interstate 65 when he was hit. The incident took place near mile marker 366, about a mile south of Ardmore in Limestone County.
