Pedestrian killed in south Las Vegas valley crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Nevada State Police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in the south Las Vegas valley.

It took place on Jan. 26, along the I-15 southbound north of Starr Avenue southbound on-ramp.

A pedestrian was traveling east in the far-right southbound travel alone of I-15 when they were hit by a tractor, according to NSP.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained on-scene and is cooperating with law enforcement. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Coroner’s Office following next of kin notification.

The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Southern Command M.I.R.T (Multidisciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team). The crash marks the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol – Southern Command’s 4th fatal crash, resulting in 4 fatalities for 2024.
