Pedestrian killed in Ventura hit-and-run on Harbor Blvd.

A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision Wednesday night along Harbor Boulevard near the Ventura Harbor, authorities said.

The Ventura Police Department received a call about a traffic collision on northbound Harbor, north of Schooner Drive, at 10:06 p.m., said Cmdr. Ryan Weeks.

Officers arrived to find the victim dead at the scene. He was described as a 75-year-old Ventura man.

The driver fled the area.

“We’re still working it right now,” Weeks said Thursday. “The suspect vehicle is outstanding.”

The accident site is bordered on the west side of Harbor Boulevard by mostly residential development, including the Ventura Marina Mobile Home Park, and on the east side by agricultural fields.

“It’s pretty rural out there,” Weeks said.

No other details were immediately available.
