Pedestrian seriously injured in Boulder crash Thursday night

Mar. 31—A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a driver in Boulder on Thursday night.

Boulder police said the crash occurred just south of the intersection of Broadway and North Street at 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

The pedestrian, a 57-year-old man from Eldorado Springs, was taken to the hospital, and Boulder police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said the person remained in critical condition Friday but was stable.

The driver, a 31-year-old man, was not injured and remained on scene.

The crash remains under investigation, but Waugh said a preliminary investigation found the pedestrian had "improperly entered the roadway" when he was struck by the driver's Ford Taurus.

The intersection of Broadway and North Street was shut down overnight, but was reopened Friday morning.

Boulder Police are looking for additional witnesses and video surveillance in the area that may have captured any footage of the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Boulder police Officer Coon at 720-626-9749 or email at CoonS@bouldercolorado.gov.
