Pedestrian struck by car in Ontario County dies from injuries

A pedestrian struck by a car Sunday night in Hopewell, Ontario County, has died from his injuries, New York State Police announced Monday morning.

Rauly Pesante-Davila, 42, of Canandaigua was walking on the west side of the intersection of County Road 10 and Routes 5 & 20 when he was struck by a car at 7:25 p.m.

Pesante-Davila was taken to F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, where he died from his injuries, according to State Police.

Troopers said that the driver of the involved vehicle did not show any signs of impairment. Further details were not released.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.

The intersection, which is near the Walmart Supercenter in Hopewell, was temporarily closed Sunday evening.
