“We walked in the house then all of a sudden, we started hearing the sirens,” said a woman, who didn’t want to be identified,

She said they frequently saw Andrews walking in that area.

“She tried to keep herself healthy,” the neighbor said. “So, she would walk up and down the road, usually a small perimeter, not too far from her house. So, it’s unfortunate that it happened right there.”

Police are investigating what led up to the crash.

FedEx wouldn’t say if the driver followed company policy or if they still had their job.

However, a spokesperson did say, “We extend our deepest condolences to those affected by this tragic accident. Safety is our highest priority, and we are cooperating fully with the investigating authorities.”

Neighbors say they’d like to see safety improvements before someone else gets hurt.

“I’ve seen stop signs put into the middle of developments before,” the woman said. “I don’t know what they can do.”

There is no word if the 38-year-old FedEx driver will face charges.

No further information has been released.
