Pedestrian struck, killed in north St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An investigation is underway after a driver fatally struck a pedestrian Wednesday evening in north St. Louis County.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. Wednesday near the area of New Halls Ferry Road and West Florissant Avenue.

The St. Louis County Police Department reports that an adult man died in the crash, but did not disclose the victim’s name or age.

Sports team organizers charged with stealing from youth players

Investigators say a driver was heading southbound on New Halls Ferry Road and approaching West Florissant Avenue when the victim crossed the roadway. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

County police say the driver remained on the scene after the crash and is cooperating with authorities.
